Via Fieschi is the main street of Corniglia, running the full length of the village from the piazza to the western belvedere. It is narrow, paved in the same cream-grey stone as the buildings that press in on both sides, and entirely car-free. In high summer it can feel tight with visitors moving in both directions, but step off into one of the tiny side alleys and you're immediately alone.
The street is lined with old stone houses, a few small shops selling Sciacchetrà wine and local focaccia, and the odd cat sprawled in a doorway. There are no grand sights along it — the appeal is the accumulated texture of a medieval coastal village that has changed very little in the last three hundred years. Walk it slowly, look up at the narrow strips of sky, and try the Sciacchetrà before you leave.
