The piazza at the bottom of the village is barely a square — more a wide bend in the alley with a stone parapet over the water. It is also the heart of Tellaro: the place where everyone passing through ends up sitting for a while.
Three or four cafes share the space. Order a coffee at any of them and you get the view that pulls people down from the car park: fishing boats pulled up on the rocks, the church on its outcrop, and the Gulf of La Spezia stretching west toward Portovenere. Sunset turns the houses behind you pink and the sea purple.
