The Torsero Park is a small natural reserve about 1.5 km inland from Ceriale on the Ligurian coast. It covers roughly one square kilometre along the Torsero River, which has carved through the rock strata to create vertical walls up to 60 metres high.
The park is not well known to casual visitors, but it is famous among palaeontologists for its marine fossil deposits — shells of the Terebratula genus and other Pliocene-era specimens are visible in the exposed rock faces. If you have any interest in geology, it is a fascinating short visit.
