Chiesa di San Donato (Old Parish Church)

The old parish church of San Donato, which gives the town its name, is the oldest surviving building in the municipality and the anchor of what little historic fabric remains in the original village core. While far from a major monument, it provides a quiet counterpoint to the relentless modernity of Metanopoli nearby — a reminder that there was a settlement here long before ENI arrived. The surrounding area retains a few older buildings and a small piazza that, by local standards, counts as the historic centre.
