A car helps but is not essential. Conerobus runs frequent buses between Ancona, Sirolo, Numana and Portonovo through the summer, and a seasonal shuttle from the Sirolo car park down to the beaches takes the sting out of the climbs. Boats from the Numana harbour reach the cliff beaches that have no land access.
Most of the cliff-top towns are closed to non-resident traffic in season; park outside the walls and walk in.
