Ancona is the regional hub. The Marche airport, Ancona-Falconara, is a short drive from the Riviera and has seasonal connections to a handful of European cities. The Bologna-Bari high-speed line stops at Ancona; Frecciarossa from Milan takes around three and a half hours, from Rome around four with a change.
The A14 autostrada runs the length of the coast. From Ancona Sud the Riviera towns are signposted; renting a car at the airport or at the station makes the Riviera much easier to see.
