Parco Naturale del Conero

The Parco Naturale del Conero protects the whole mountain and its coastline. Eighteen marked trails cross the park, ranging from short walks to the Belvedere Nord (an hour return from the visitor centre at Poggio) to the four-hour traverse of the ridge. Most trails connect to the beaches; the down-and-up element is what makes them serious.

Maps are available at the visitor centre at Poggio and online. The macchia is most fragrant in late spring; autumn has the clearest light. Hiking shoes essential.
