Villa Comunale

A small public garden on the seaward side of the cathedral and castle, planted with pines, palms, and Mediterranean shrubs and dotted with benches looking out over the Adriatic. Locals come here in the evenings to walk dogs, push prams, or sit on the low wall facing the sea. The garden was laid out in the late 19th century and retains a quiet bourgeois elegance — a useful interval between cathedral and castle.
