Chiesa San Michele

Chiesa San Michele is one of the most recognisable churches in Alghero's old town, thanks to the bright tiled dome that rises above the narrow streets. The church itself dates from the 16th century, while the colourful dome decoration was added in the 1950s.

It is an easy stop while wandering between the bastions, Piazza Civica, and the cathedral. Look up from the surrounding lanes as well as inside; the dome is the part that makes the church linger in memory.
