Robert Trent Jones Sr designed the Pevero course in 1972 on a strip of granite, macchia, and pink-flowering oleander between Cala di Volpe and the Pevero bay. The result is consistently rated among the most beautiful golf courses in Europe and one of the harder ones in Italy — narrow fairways thread between rocks, the wind off the gulf can pick up sharply by midday, and several holes finish with the sea as backdrop.
The course is open to non-members between April and October; greens fees are high (typically €180–250 in peak season) and a tee time must be booked well in advance through the club or your hotel. The clubhouse restaurant is open to all players and serves a respectable lunch. Carts are mandatory in the hottest months.
