The beaches of the Costa Smeralda around Porto Cervo are among the most beautiful in Italy. Liscia Ruja is the longest beach on this stretch, backed by juniper and myrtle with clear green water. Capriccioli is smaller and more sheltered, popular with snorkellers. Cala Granu is the closest beach to the town and the most accessible on foot. All beaches are backed by granite outcrops and surrounded by Mediterranean scrub, giving them a more natural character than the resort itself.
