Villa Cerami

Villa Cerami is an eighteenth-century noble villa set on the high ground above Via Crociferi, now used as the law faculty of the University of Catania. The gardens, with their terraces of clipped box hedges and views over the rooftops of the old city, are occasionally open to visitors.

The villa itself is rarely accessible, but the gardens and the entrance court can be seen during faculty hours. The Wagner family stayed here briefly in 1882, while the composer was working on Parsifal.
