Casa Cuseni

An artist's villa and garden in Taormina, now opened as a museum of twentieth-century creative life.

Casa Cuseni was built in 1905 by the English artist Robert Hawthorn Kitson, who filled the Taormina villa with commissioned murals, furniture, and art. Its rooms and gardens became part of the town's literary and artistic life in the twentieth century.

The appeal is the whole setting: house, garden, views, and the story of the writers and artists who passed through. It is a quieter counterpoint to Taormina's ancient theatre and busy main street.
