By train: The nearest train station is Forte dei Marmi–Pietrasanta, about 3 km from the seafront on the main Florence–Pisa–La Spezia coastal line. Trains run frequently from Pisa (about 40 minutes), La Spezia (about 50 minutes), and Florence (about 1 hour 40 minutes, change at Pisa). From the station, taxis and local buses connect to the beach.
By car: Forte dei Marmi is on the A12 autostrada (Genoa–Livorno); take the Versilia exit. Parking in the centre is expensive and limited in summer; most visitors staying in villas or hotels have private parking. Day trippers should use the car parks on the outskirts and cycle or walk in.
By air: The closest major airports are Pisa (Galileo Galilei, about 45 km south) and Florence (Peretola, about 100 km). Both have good connections to the rest of Europe. Car hire from Pisa Airport is straightforward; a taxi to Forte dei Marmi costs around €80–100.
