Assisi has its own small train station (Assisi-Santa Maria degli Angeli) on the Foligno–Terontola line, with regular connections to Perugia, Foligno, and onward to Rome or Florence with a change. From the station it is a short bus ride or a steep 3 km walk uphill to the old town.
By car, Assisi is about 25 km east of Perugia along the E45 and SS75. Parking is available outside the walls — the town centre is largely pedestrianised.
