Parco San Giuliano

Parco San Giuliano is a large public park on the edge of the Venice lagoon, occupying the reclaimed waterfront between Mestre and the water. At 74 hectares it is one of the largest urban parks in the Veneto, and its position on the lagoon edge gives it something no park in central Venice can offer: a panoramic view of the entire Venice skyline, from the campanile of San Marco to the churches of Giudecca, stretched out across the water.

In summer the park hosts the Heineken Jammin' Festival, one of northern Italy's biggest outdoor music events, drawing international rock and pop acts. The rest of the year it is used by joggers, cyclists, and families. A walking path follows the lagoon edge for several kilometres, with benches and picnic areas. The park is about 3km from the town centre, easily reached by bus.
