Palazzo Zuckermann is an early 20th-century building housing two separate collections: the Museum of Applied and Decorative Arts on the lower floors, and the Bottacin Museum on the upper floor. The decorative arts collection covers textiles, ceramics, metalwork, and furniture from the medieval period through the 19th century — a solid survey of Venetian craft traditions that complements the major art museums nearby.
The Bottacin Museum is the more unusual of the two: a collection assembled by the 19th-century merchant Nicola Bottacin, focused on coins, medals, and seals from antiquity through the modern era, with an eclectic grouping of paintings and bronzes alongside them. The building itself, with its Liberty-style facade and ornate staircase, is part of the attraction. It sits across from the Scrovegni Chapel complex, making it convenient to combine the two.
