Treviso fits comfortably into a day on foot. The historic centre is small, ringed by Renaissance walls and threaded by canals fed by the Sile and Botteniga rivers. Start at Piazza dei Signori and work outwards — the Duomo, the frescoed church of San Nicolò, the canal walk past the Pescheria fish market, and the Loggia dei Cavalieri are all within ten minutes of each other.
