The most atmospheric cafe in Verona, occupying the corner of Piazza dei Signori under the Loggia del Consiglio. The setting — Renaissance arches, the Dante statue in the middle distance, pigeons on the rooflines — is as good as anywhere in northern Italy. Coffee and aperitivo at the counter is the local way; tables outside are predictably more expensive but the view justifies it. This is one of the older cafes in the city and has a loyal Veronese clientele alongside the tourist trade.
