Fisherman's Ethnographic Homestead

Small lagoon-side homestead showing how Curonian Spit fishing families lived before resort tourism

Nida's Fisherman's Ethnographic Homestead is a small but useful counterweight to the dunes, summer houses, and polished resort atmosphere around the Curonian Spit. The restored wooden house stands by the lagoon on Nagliu Street and shows the domestic side of the old fishing village: simple rooms, household tools, nets, and the rhythms of a family economy tied to the water.

It is not a large museum, and it works best as part of a walk through old Nida rather than as a destination on its own. Still, the scale is exactly the point. After the big landscapes of Parnidis Dune and the literary polish of the Thomas Mann House, this homestead brings the place back to boats, smoke, weather, and ordinary work.
