New Mosque (Yeni Dzhamija)

The New Mosque (Yeni Dzhamija) was built in 1558 by a local Ottoman judge and is one of the best-preserved Ottoman mosques in North Macedonia. It stands on Magnolia Square beside the Clock Tower, forming the core of what was once Bitola's Ottoman commercial district. The domed structure with its elegant single minaret is a handsome example of classical Ottoman mosque architecture.

The mosque is still active for Friday prayers. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times; modest dress is expected. The interior has recently been restored and retains its original Ottoman decoration. The courtyard, shaded by old plane trees, is a quiet spot away from the bustle of Širok Sokak.
