Lake Ohrid's beaches are mostly small, pebble or shingle, with the largest stretches south of the town along the road to the village of LjubaniĊĦta. Around the town itself, the lakefront promenade has swimming platforms and small swimming areas between the boats. The water is clear, deeper than most freshwater bathing, and warmer than its altitude (700 m) suggests by mid-July.
