Ohrid has a small international airport (OHD) about 9 km north of the centre, with seasonal flights from Vienna, Zurich, Basel, and a handful of other European cities — mostly summer-only. Year-round, the easiest air route is to Skopje (170 km, three hours by road) and onward by bus or rental car. The road from Skopje is mostly motorway through Tetovo and on to Kičevo, with a winding mountain stretch over the Bukovo pass at the end.
Cross-border buses connect Ohrid with Tirana (Albania) and with Sofia (Bulgaria) several times a week. Local taxis serve the airport for a fixed flat fare.
