Getting Around

The old town and lakefront are easy to cover on foot — slow on the steep stepped lanes, but never more than fifteen or twenty minutes between sights. Cars are not allowed in most of the upper old town and finding parking near the harbour is difficult in July and August. Taxis are cheap and metered; the airport run is a flat rate.

For the lake itself, hire boats run from the harbour or take the scheduled Sveti Naum service. Bicycles can be rented from several shops near the harbour and the eastern lakeshore road has decent cycle infrastructure as far as the Bay of Bones.
