Galija Restaurant

Long-established fish restaurant near the old town, popular with locals and visitors alike

Galija has been operating near Budva's old town for decades and has a reputation for consistency that most tourist-facing restaurants on the Montenegrin coast fail to maintain. The menu is focused on Adriatic seafood: grilled fish by weight, seafood pasta, octopus stew, and shellfish from the Bay of Kotor. The fish is fresh and the kitchen doesn't overcomplicate it.

The indoor dining room has the wood-panelled feel of an old-school konoba; the outdoor terrace fills up quickly in summer. Prices are in line with Budva's tourist-zone rates, but the quality justifies them better than many neighbouring places. Book ahead for dinner in July and August.
