Eating Out

Herceg Novi eats like the rest of the bay: a lot of grilled fish, octopus salad, black risotto, and the famous Njeguši smoked ham as a starter. Prices on the promenade are notably cheaper than in Kotor or Budva.

The cluster of restaurants along the Pet Danica below the old town does fresh fish straight off the small local boats. For something simpler, the side streets of the old town have a few konobas serving generous portions of grilled meat and seasonal vegetables. Coffee culture is strong and slow — order a Turkish coffee at a Belavista Square café and watch the morning go by.
