Porto Montenegro is the new Tivat: immaculate quays, clipped landscaping, large yachts, boutiques, apartment blocks, and restaurants with prices to match. It can feel oddly detached from the rest of Montenegro, but it is undeniably well executed and pleasant for a waterfront walk.
Come in the evening when the marina lights come on and locals mix with visitors on the promenade. Even if the luxury scene is not your style, the scale of the redevelopment tells you a great deal about how the Montenegrin coast is changing.
