The Yanmar Stadion (still informally known as the Almere City Stadion) is the home ground of Almere City FC, the city's professional football club. The club spent two decades grinding through the lower divisions before being promoted to the Eredivisie — the top tier of Dutch football — in 2023, an event the city celebrated with a long week of orange flags.
The 4,500-seat stadium is small but unusually intimate for an Eredivisie ground, and the supporters' end is loud. Tickets are easy to come by; the away clubs that visit are some of the most famous names in Dutch football. Located in Almere-Buiten, a short walk from Almere Buiten railway station.
