Noorderkerk

Dutch Reformed church whose Saturday market is the Jordaan's best

At the northern end of the Jordaan, the Noorderkerk was built between 1620 and 1623 to serve a working-class neighbourhood that felt the Westerkerk was too far and too grand. Hendrick de Keyser designed it; his son Pieter completed it after his death. The square outside hosts the city's best organic and farmers' market on Saturday mornings.
