Amsterdam's best shopping is in the Nine Streets (De Negen Straatjes), the grid of small streets connecting the three main canals west of the centre — independent boutiques, vintage clothing, books, design and food shops packed into 15 minutes of walking. The Albert Cuyp Market in De Pijp (Monday–Saturday) is the city's best street market for food, clothes and daily goods. Waterlooplein has a flea market most days. Most shops open until 18:00 on weekdays, with late shopping on Thursday until 21:00.
