Apeldoorn has direct hourly train connections from Amsterdam (about 55 minutes), Utrecht, Enschede, Groningen and Leeuwarden. From Amsterdam, trains run every 30 minutes during peak hours. A one-way ticket from Amsterdam costs around EUR 14 in second class.
By car, the A1 motorway runs east from Amsterdam and the A50 connects Groningen in the north to Arnhem in the south, both passing through Apeldoorn.
