Synagogue

Groningen's synagogue is one of the city's most striking religious buildings, with a Moorish Revival interior inspired by the New Synagogue in Berlin. It reflects the scale and confidence of the prewar Jewish community, much of which was destroyed during the Second World War.

The building is worth seeking out for both its architecture and its history. Check opening times before going, since access can depend on exhibitions, events, or guided visits.
