Grote Kerk

The town's main Reformed church, on the small Kerkplein off the Voorstraat. The current building dates from 1772 and is a clean, white-walled preaching church in the Dutch Reformed tradition — a single barn-like space with the pulpit at the centre, a fine baroque organ at one end, and old shipowners' tomb-slabs underfoot. Opening hours are short; check at the tourist office or look for the open door on Saturday mornings.
