Nijmegen has a strong café culture fed by Radboud University's 22,000 students, and the city centre stays lively well into the night. The Grote Markt and the side streets around the Molenstraat are the main going-out areas; the Waalkade terraces take over in summer. During the Vierdaagse week in July the entire city becomes one extended outdoor party — plan accordingly or avoid entirely.
