Nijmegen is well connected by train. Direct intercity services run from Amsterdam Centraal in about 1 hour 10 minutes, from Utrecht in around 50 minutes, and from Arnhem in 15 minutes (with very frequent connections). The railway station is a 10-minute walk from the city centre; buses and taxis are available for the climb up to the Grote Markt.
By car, Nijmegen sits on the A73 and A15 motorways at the junction of the Rhine and Maas delta. From Amsterdam allow about 1 hour 15 minutes; from Brussels around 2 hours. Parking in the centre is limited and expensive; the park-and-ride options on the outskirts and the train from Arnhem are both easier. Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam) is the nearest major international hub, about 90 minutes by train with one change.
