Since it opened in 1996, the Erasmus Bridge -- nicknamed "the Swan" for its asymmetric white pylon -- has become Rotterdam's most recognizable landmark. The 802-metre cable-stayed bridge connects the city centre to the Kop van Zuid development on the south bank. Walk or cycle across for the best views of the skyline.
