Designed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA, the Kunsthal has no permanent collection -- instead it hosts around 25 temporary exhibitions a year covering art, design, photography, and culture. The building itself is worth the visit: a deceptively simple box with a public passage running through it and a surreal Japanese garden on the roof. Check what is on before you go, as quality varies with the programme.
