Getting Around

The Hague has a good tram and bus network operated by HTM. Most of the city's sights are within the central zone, and the tram is the quickest way to cover longer distances — notably between the city centre and Scheveningen (tram 1 or 9) and between the centre and the Kunstmuseum and Peace Palace (tram 17). Day passes and multi-day passes are available and good value if you are making several journeys.

The city centre around the Binnenhof, Mauritshuis, and Lange Voorhout is compact enough to cover entirely on foot. Bicycles are available for rent from several points near the central station — cycling is the most comfortable way to explore the residential neighbourhoods and reach the Louwman Museum. Taxis are available at the station and can be hailed in the street.
