The Piushaven is Tilburg's most successful urban regeneration project — a former industrial harbour that has been converted into a lively waterfront strip of restaurants, cafes, and event spaces. The warehouses and water make for a setting more interesting than the city centre, and on summer evenings the terraces along the water are genuinely pleasant.
There is nothing particularly sophisticated about the Piushaven — it is the kind of place that has a food truck festival in summer and a Christmas market in winter — but it fills a gap that Tilburg's city centre was missing, and the weekend crowd shows it has found its audience. The harbour is about fifteen minutes' walk from the Heuvel, heading west along the Wilhelminapark side.
