Wageningen is a cycle town. The university keeps bike use extremely high, and the infrastructure reflects it. Nearly everything in the town is reachable on a bicycle, and the flat terrain and short distances make cycling the obvious choice. Bike rental is available from several shops near the station area and the town centre.
The town centre itself is compact and walkable. The campus is a 15-minute walk or 5-minute cycle from the Markt. The Rhine bank and the Wageningse Berg are easy cycling distance. For day trips to Arnhem, Rhenen, or the Veluwe, a combination of bicycle and bus works well.
