Wageningen punches above its weight for a town of 40,000. The two anchors are the German surrender site at Hotel de Wereld and the Wageningen University campus, both of which reward a slow visit. Beyond those, the town has a pleasant medieval centre, a working windmill, and easy access to the Veluwe hills and the Rhine floodplains. Most things are walkable or a short bike ride apart.
