Bare is one of Bergen's better modern restaurants, with a menu that changes by season and focuses on Norwegian produce — lamb from the west-coast farms, fish from local boats, game in autumn. The cooking is not dramatically innovative but it is careful and honest, and the wine list is good. A reasonable choice for a proper evening dinner away from the tourist-oriented Bryggen strip.
