Bergen's airport, Flesland, is about 20 km south of the city centre, connected by frequent airport buses. The Bergen Railway from Oslo is one of the great scenic rail journeys in Europe — seven hours through the Hardangervidda mountain plateau. Coaches connect Bergen to most major Norwegian cities. Bergen is also a major ferry port and the southern terminal of the Hurtigruten coastal steamer to Kirkenes.
