Enhjørningen occupies one of the original Bryggen buildings — the timber-framed ground floor of a Hanseatic warehouse — and is widely considered the best place in Bergen to eat traditional Norwegian fish dishes in an authentic setting. The menu is heavy on salt cod, clipfish, and local seafood; the interior, with its low beamed ceilings and candles, is exactly what you want after a day in the rain.
Book well ahead in summer. The location at Bryggen means plenty of tourist visitors, but the kitchen is serious and the food justifies the prices.
