The Kvadraturen is small enough to walk in any direction in twenty minutes; almost everything in the centre of Kristiansand is on foot. For Odderøya, Bystranda and the Fiskebrygga the city centre is also walkable. For Dyreparken, Hamresanden and the islands you need either the local bus network — Agder Kollektivtrafikk runs frequent routes — or a car.
The city has a pleasant network of cycle paths, and bike rental is available at the tourist office on the harbour from late spring.
