Kristiansand is small enough that you can walk between most of its attractions in twenty minutes — from the cathedral on the central square to the fortress on the harbour, the fish market on the Strandpromenaden, and the city beach right next door. Beyond the centre, the islands of the archipelago, the rocky park of Odderøya, and the big regional zoo are all within a quarter of an hour by bus or car.
