Kilden Performing Arts Centre

The big oak-clad concert hall and theatre on the harbour at the foot of Odderøya, opened in 2012 to designs by the Helsinki firm ALA. The sweeping golden-oak façade tilts dramatically out over the water and is widely held to be the most striking piece of contemporary architecture in southern Norway. Inside there are four halls — concert hall, opera house, theatre, multipurpose room — used by Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and Opera Sør.

Even if you have no time for a performance, walk past on the harbour boardwalk to look at the building. There is a cafe on the ground floor with terrace seating in summer.
