Reine

Reine is the administrative centre of Moskenes and the most photographed village in Norway — a cluster of red and yellow rorbu cabins perched on a rocky islet, their reflections shimmering in the glassy Reinefjord with a wall of jagged peaks rising directly behind. In reality it is tiny: a handful of streets, a shop, and a harbour. Its fame comes entirely from what surrounds it.

The village sits on a small island connected to the main road by a short bridge. Walking the shoreline at dusk or during the midnight sun hours in June and July, when the light is impossibly warm, is one of the great simple pleasures of the Lofoten Islands.
