A reconstructed Iron Age farm on the outskirts of Stavanger, built on the actual foundations of a farm that was inhabited around 350–550 AD. The site shows three longhouses of the type used during the Migration Period — low, turf-roofed buildings where people and animals shared space during the long Norwegian winters.
The reconstruction is based on careful archaeological work, and staff in period costume demonstrate traditional crafts and farming techniques during the summer season. It is one of the more grounded open-air history experiences in western Norway — less theatrical than some, more focused on what daily life actually involved. The farm is adjacent to the University of Stavanger campus, about 4 kilometres south of the city centre.
