Getting Around

Chorzów is wrapped into the integrated Metropolis GZM transport system, with buses and trams running between the city, Katowice, Bytom, and Gliwice. A single ticket covers the whole conurbation. The most useful tram for visitors is Line 6, which runs the length of the city and passes the entrances to Silesian Park.

Inside the park itself a chairlift (kolejka linowa "Elka") connects the major attractions, and a narrow-gauge railway loops through the trees. Both run mainly in the warmer months. For getting between the planetarium, the zoo, and the ethnographic museum, walking is the most pleasant option — the park is flat and well signposted.
